Thursday is shaping up to be a busy day on Capitol Hill, with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy set to meet with House and Senate Republicans about their Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the saga of the House Ethics Committee’s investigation into former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) reaching its final act.
Also Thursday, Pete Hegseth, President-elect Trump’s pick to lead the Pentagon, is trying to salvage his nomination as his prospects look bleak. Hegseth spent Wednesday vowing to continue fighting and launching a media blitz to defend himself against accusations of sexual misconduct, excessive drinking and unprofessional behavior.
And in the morning the House task force investigating the assassination attempt against Trump is meeting.
