Holiday season gift guide for art and design enthusiasts


Promotion: with the holiday season fast approaching, Dezeen has teamed up with 10 design brands to put together a gift guide featuring a minimalist menorah, a coffee maker and a ping pong table that doubles as wall art.


This year’s selection of products ranges from home decorations and kitchenware to practical office accessories, each offering something different for design-conscious gifting.

Art of Ping Pong x André Saraiva.

Merging art and play, London-based Art of Ping Pong creates ping pong tables, nets and bats with colourful designs that can be hung on walls to double as artwork in the home.

The brand’s latest artist collaboration was with street artist André Saraiva, who designed a limited-edition collection defined by pale pink surfaces and graphic lines depicting faces.


Candles selected for a gift guide

Mint Condition by Adlan Fragrances

Aiming to create multisensory experiences with candles that both smell and look beautiful, US brand Adlan Fragrances offers coconut wax candles in graphite stoneware vessels.

The Mint Condition candle was designed to recall crisp mornings in the countryside, with fragrance notes of fresh mint, basil and cypress.


Home office desk

Setup Cockpit by Balolo

German brand Balolo creates office equipment that aims to improve productivity and adapt to different user needs.

The brand’s Setup Cockpit is a modular desk shelving system that features a mounting grid on its underside, allowing up to 28 ad-ons to be attached, including device holders and storage trays.


Portable table lamp as part of Dezeen's gift guide

Olivia Pro Micro by Zafferano America

This portable table lamp has a compact, cordless design that can be used both indoors and outdoors.

Designed by lighting brand Zafferano America, the Olivia Pro Micro lamp is 20 centimetres tall, has three colour temperatures and is dimmable by touch.


Menorah design gift guide

Menorah by Ma-Ma

New York City-based Ma-Ma has designed a sleek, minimalist menorah made up of a circular disk base topped with a semicircle that rotates to reveal candle holders.

Made from polished aluminium, its reflective surface aims to amplify the glow of the lit candles.


Orb One stovetop coffeemaker

Orb One by Crucial Detail

Orb One is a stovetop coffeemaker created by Chicago-based kitchenware brand Crucial Detail as a reinterpretation and improvement of traditional moka pots.

Compared to the traditional pots, Orb One was designed to use energy on a gas burner more efficiently and it does not require paper filters.


Brass candlestick holders

Brass candlestick holder by Aurum

Based in Victoria, Australia, Aurum is a homeware brand that manufactures its products locally in the city of Bendigo, including this brass candlestick holder.

The holder has an hourglass shape that comes in two heights and is also available in stainless steel.


Three ceramic vases

Olé Vase by Hania Jneid

Lebanese artist Hania Jneid, who is based in Barcelona, uses bright colours in her ceramics, including the Olé Vases.

Forming part of the artist’s wider Olé collection, the handmade vases were informed by the colours and patterns in Spanish Flamenco culture.


Granite vase

Granite collection by Museum Reinhard Ernst

The Museum Reinhard Ernst in Wiesbaden, Germany, has launched a series of granite home decor items made from offcuts sourced from the museum’s construction.

Encouraging people to decorate their homes with “a real piece of a museum”, the collection includes postcard stands and vases with geometric forms.


Striped red kimono by Kutnia

Kimonos by Kutnia

Based in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, Kutnia is a womenswear and homeware brand that celebrates slow fashion and the history of the city’s silk trade.

It has designed a range of colourful kimonos made from kutnu, a type of woven silk and cotton made only in Gaziantep.
