Olivia Munn and John Mulaney welcome their second baby via surrogate

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s family just grew by one. The couple have welcomed their second baby, a daughter, via a gestational surrogate. They both made announcements on social media that their new little one had arrived earlier this month, sharing photos and her name with the world.

“Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon🐉,” Munn wrote on Instagram, alongside a carousel of photos that included a picture of herself sitting on Mulaney’s lap in a hospital room, beaming as she held their newborn daughter.

“I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel,” Munn continued. “Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.”

At the end of her post, Munn shared the meaning behind the name the couple chose for their daughter: “I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese 梅💜.”

Munn also included a close-up photo of baby Méi, a picture of her holding the baby at home, and a family photo near the ocean.

Mulaney also posted to Instagram to announce Méi’s arrival, writing, “Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon🐉. We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.”

Mulaney’s post also included a note about the meaning and pronunciation of Méi’s name. In his carousel, he included a video of his newborn daughter spitting up on him as he burped her—classic.
Méi joins the couple’s 2-year-old son Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney, whom they welcomed on Nov. 24, 2021. Mulaney and Munn, who have been together publicly since 2021, got married just a few months ago in an intimate wedding ceremony at a friend’s home in New York state officiated by Munn’s Newsroom costar, Sam Waterston.
