This was a pleasant surprise. I thought I would like it enough, but I also wasn’t sure what to expect. I liked the supernatural politics and felt they were a bit different than other books I’ve read. Misery was a little hard to like at first, but she grew on me. I understood how she never felt loved and her relationship with her friend/sister and brother was nice. I loved her with Ana though. There was something there that just made me happy whenever they had a scene together. And Lowe was just amazing. He was sweet, loving, and responsible. He almost cared too much at times. There are definitely some betrayals in this one and I liked not knowing who. And I did love Misery and Lowe together. There was some steaminess (and something a bit odd), but it was never overly graphic. I’m hoping we get another book after that ending.
I gave this book 4 1/2 stars.
