Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D) and former Rep. Mike Rogers (R), running to replace retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D), will take the debate stage Tuesday night in a forum hosted by local Nexstar affiliate WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Mich.
News 8 political reporter Rick Albin will moderate, with anchor Amber Krycka also presenting questions, according to the outlet.
Slotkin, elected to the House in 2018, won the Democratic primary in the battleground state earlier this year, setting up the prime upper-chamber race that is key to determining the majority next year. Rogers, who served in the lower chamber from 2001 to 2015, won the GOP primary in August and has been backed by former President Trump.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Slotkin with a 3.7-point lead over Rogers, with 46.6 percent support to his 42.9 percent.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
